Monday: Look at Bacterial Lab Results, Gel Electrophoresis journal entry

Tuesday: 9 weeks review (worth +5 on 9 weeks test grade)

Wednesday: 2nd 9 weeks test

Thursday: Pros and Cons of DNA testing videos and discussion

Friday: DNA testing opinion essay

 

Honors Biology Lesson Plans:

Monday: Look at Bacterial Lab Results; Gel Electrophoresis discussion and assignment

HW: 9 weeks test review (a portion of it)

Tuesday: Complete the test review and Gimkit

Wednesday: 2nd 9 weeks test

Thursday: Pros and Cons of DNA testing videos and discussion

Friday: DNA testing opinion essay

We are in the middle of one of the most interesting concepts in Biology: Molecular Genetics!

Biology Lesson Plans:

Monday: Projects are due at the start of class!  Mutation journal entries and Simulation activity

Tuesday: Mutation Stations Activity

Wednesday: Algebra Benchmark in the morning; Mutations sorting cards

Thursday: Genetic Expression introduction; Twins Epigenetics lab

Friday: Cell Differentiation journal entry; Set up Bacteria Genetic Expression Lab (we will look at results on Monday)

 

Honors Biology Lesson Plans:

Monday: Projects are due at the start of class!  Mutation journal entries and begin Mutations assignment

Tuesday:  Complete the Mutations assignment

HW: Any work incomplete on the Mutations assignment needs to be done by tomorrow

Wednesday: Mutations sorting cards and Quiz

Thursday: Genetic Expression introduction; Twins Epigenetics Lab

Friday: Cell Differentiation journal entry; Set up Bacterial Expression Lab

 

I may end up switching Thursday and Friday’s plans, depending on the bacteria growth of what we ordered!

HW: Test Corrections (due Wednesday)

Tuesday: Translation journal entry and practice; Google Slide assignment

HW: Test Corrections are due Wednesday!

Wednesday: Begin Alien Arthropod Project

Thursday: Continue working on project

Friday: Complete project and do the Dog DNA testing assignment

HW: Project and article are due on Monday!

 

Honors Lesson Plans:

Monday: RNA vs. DNA discussion, Transcription journal entry and practice, Test Corrections

HW: Test Corrections and Topic Review Guide (p. 29-30) are due Wednesday

Tuesday: Translation journal entry and practice; Google Slide assignment

HW: Topic Review Guide (p. 29-30) and test corrections are due tomorrow

Wednesday: Begin Alien Arthropod Project

Thursday: Continue working on the project

Friday: Complete project and do page one of the Mutations lab

HW: Complete anything you did not finish from Friday by Monday.

I can’t believe we are already close to Thanksgiving break.  And I am so excited for what we are learning this week and the weeks after the break. Molecular Genetics is so interesting, and they have already been asking some great questions.

HW: If you don’t finish your corrections in class, come in before school to finish them

Thursday: DNA molecule diagram coloring in our journal

Friday: DNA and replication assignment
