Meet the Teacher 2025 – Biology and Honors Biology

Meet The Teacher 2025 – Biology and Honors Biology

My name is Staci Henderson, and I’m so happy to be your Biology teacher this year.  As a campus, we are going to work hard to provide you lots of opportunities for success in a safe environment. This is my 23rd year of teaching, and my 10th year here at White Oak High School. I love teaching Biology and AP Biology, there are so many things you will learn this year to help you understand the living world around you.  We’ll be busy in class, but the good kind of busy! This is a STAAR-EOC tested class, and thankfully the only science STAAR test you will have to take during high school.  We’ll get you ready!

In Biology, you will need the following supplies:

  1. Folder to keep handouts and homework (for Biology, can be placed inside a binder shared with another class or kept separate)
  2. School-issued Chromebook
  3. Corded headphones (no bluetooth)
  4. Pencils

Classroom supply:

Please donate a couple rolls of paper towels and/or a box of disposable gloves.

School begins Wednesday, August 13th.

Join the ParentSquare app to receive messages from your teachers and the school. (Students join StudentSquare with their school gmail account).

My blog is: hendersonbiology.wonecks.net.

My email is: [email protected].

Looking forward to the first day of school and the school year!

Biology and Honors Biology Supply List 2025-2026

I wanted to go ahead and post this list of supplies for anyone who is shopping early!

I will update it when we have our first science department meeting when teachers go back to school, but I don’t think it will change much if any.

Personal Supplies:

Pencils/Pens

School-supplied chromebook (no other computer, must be the school chromebook)

Headphones/earbuds – for assignments only (not used very often)

Folder to keep handouts (for Biology specifically)

Classroom supplies to donate:

2 rolls of paper towels and if possible, a box of disposable gloves for labs. (If you happen to come across XL gloves, that would be great to get some that size since some of my students do not fit in the typical one size fits most!)

Here is a link of a good option, for a fair price: Non-latex gloves, various sizes
